
PALO ALTO, Calif. — The Stanford School of Engineering’s new annual report caught my eye on Friday (I follow the school on Twitter because I study and work at Stanford). What I learned was that the school has made public data on the races and genders of its students for years now.
Here’s a glance at some of the numbers. I collected each type of data from the first and last years it was available. An archive of these annual reports, including interim years, is here. For some context on race and gender in the Stanford student population overall, here is what the university offers on graduate students and its newest undergraduate class.
